Talk delivered on Designing Learning Outcomes in Teaching

 

ALIGARH : The English Language Teaching (ELT) Discussion Group, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University organized a talk by Dr. Sayed Khurram Nisar, Department of Physical Education, on “Empowering Skills of Designing Learning Outcomes in Teaching in the Department of English”.

Dr. Nisar focused on developing the skill of designing learning outcome in students by highlighting the role of cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains, related taxonomies and the use of action verbs. He motivated students to use the science of practice teaching.

He demonstrated the method of designing learning outcomes in relation to NEP 2020 and in aligning the evaluation with the predetermined outcomes followed by content and pedagogy selection.

Earlier welcoming the guest speaker, Prof. Mohammad Asim Siddiqui, Chairman of the department, mentioned the initiatives taken by the ELT Discussion Group for training postgraduate students and research scholars. He appreciated Dr. Khurram’s expertise shared on designing learning outcomes for teaching within the context of the emerging student-centered model of curriculum.

Prof. Raashid Nehal, Coordinator, ELT Discussion Group highlighted the significance of designing learning outcomes needed in the field of teaching and evaluation. He also extended a vote of thanks.
