TAS Pune Students Prepare and Conduct Workshop on STEM Education
Students of The Academy School (TAS), Pune, recently hosted a workshop that was coined, conceptualised and conducted by them for fellow students and students from other schools across the city. The workshop mainly focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education, an interdisciplinary approach of studies focusing on hands-on, problem-based learning.
Students of Grade 7 prepared the workshop and were explaining concepts through creative thinking and innovation.
“The workshop is completely the students’ achievement. This is what we mean when we say we create an environment for a student wherein they can apply what they learn and also come up with their own ideas and ways to look at things,” said Dr Maithili Tambe, CEO, TAS.
The workshop included interesting things such as information regarding what is the first technological invention, when did technology start, top inventions of all time, future of technology, scientific temper, chemical engineering and several other things were being showcased in live format in the workshop held at the TAS premises.
“We were thinking of doing something unique and also wanted to check if we can replicate what our teachers do for us. This is just our humble attempt at doing the noble deed of explaining concepts. We realised that we are learning more by teaching,” said TAS students.
