TCS’ Rural IT Quiz: Kommareddy EM High School, Krishna Wins Andhra Pradesh State Finals
Amravati : Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced that a student from Kommareddy EM High School, Krishna has won the Andhra Pradesh State Finals of the 2021 Rural IT Quiz.
The 22nd edition of the quiz was conducted in association with the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka and supported by the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh.
This year, students got an opportunity to participate in an engaging virtual format – a combination of online tests and virtual quiz shows – giving them a completely new digital experience. The quiz witnessed participation from several districts across the state, with students from class VIII to XII participating in the program. After a preliminary online test, six students qualified for the virtual finals. The Finals had five segments – Byte Clouds, Byte Recognition, Byte Context, Borderless Bytes, Bytes Agile – which tested students’ knowledge in the IT domain, and prompted them to think laterally.
The results of the Andhra Pradesh State Finals of the Rural IT Quiz are as below:
Winner – Ganesh Bharadwaj, Kommareddy EM High School, Krishna
Runner-up – Patnala Hariteja, AP Model School, Tamada
TCS gave the winners gift vouchers worth Rs 10,000 and the runners-up vouchers worth Rs 7,000.
TCS has been organizing the Rural IT Quiz since the year 2000 in association with the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, to enhance IT awareness amongst students from smaller towns and districts across participating states in India and keep them abreast with the latest developments in the world of technology. This program has reached over 18 million students till date.
The 2021 edition of the quiz consists of eight regional rounds across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. Winners from the regional rounds will compete at the National Finals in November. Prizes at the National level include TCS educational scholarships of Rs 1,00,000 for the winner, and Rs 50,000 for the runner up.
