‘Teachers day’ celebrations held across Kulgam
Colorful function held at GBHSS Chawalgam; teachers felicitated/ honored for their extraordinary services
KULGAM : Felicitation of teachers and a plethora of other activities highlighting the role of teachers in the society marked the ‘Teachers Day’ celebration in Kulgam.
On the occasion, a mega and colorful function was held at LNK Nazir Ahmad Wani Model Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Chawalgam to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, first Vice President of India.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was also attended by Additional Development Commissioner, Chief Education Officer, Principals, ZEO’s, Headmasters, teachers and students.
During the function, scores of teachers and heads of institutions were honored and felicitated for their extraordinary contribution in enriching the field of education.
Addressing the gathering, the DC extended greetings of the day to the teachers and said that Teachers are the true nation builders and this day provides the society an opportunity to thank them and recognize their contribution.
While stating that the education sector is our priority, the DC highlighted measures and steps taken to augment the facilities in educational institutions across the district.
ADC Showkat Ahmad Rather highlighted the role of teachers and relation of education in making the nation prosperous and developed.
The participating speakers on the occasion also expressed their views about the role of teachers in their lives.
Students also presented colorful cultural programmes and mesmerized the audience.
Meanwhile, Teachers Day celebrations were also held in schools, colleges and other educational institutions across the district.
