The program also provides students with an opportunity to receive monthly stipends in the range defined by the Minimum Wages Act. The eligibility to enroll for the programs is 12th pass from any stream. The enrolment for the new program are already open and will continue till 30th April, 2021.
Sharing his views about the importance of such programs, Mr Shantanu Rooj, CEO and Founder of TeamLease Edtech, said, “In India, there is still a dearth of skilled workforce across industries and this has been a major concern for employers who have been looking to hire. Even for the candidates finding the right opportunity has been quite a daunting tasking as they are unable to meet the requirements or expectations of the employers. Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programs are a very effective way to bridge this gap. Through these programs, employability of students can be enhanced as it not only imparts them with theoretical knowledge, it offers them with adequate industry exposure.”
“We are looking at launching many such programs with Jain (Deemed-to-be- University) as well as many other colleges across the county in this year itself”, added Mr Rooj.
Commenting on this collaboration, Mr. NVH Krishnan, Registrar (Deemed-to-be University), said, “In India, skills, especially hands-on knowledge, are becoming far more important. Initiatives like this can go a long way in bridging that need and help our youth become employable. With this strategic partnership, we will create a qualified and strong workforce by unlocking the full potential of the youngsters who wish to build a better future for themselves and the society around them”.
