Technical seminar on the manufacturing process of cement

ALIGARH  : The Department of Civil Engineering, Z H College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a one-day technical seminar on “Manufacturing Process of Cement” under industry-institute interaction, which was sponsored by Ultratech cement.

Er. Abhishek Anand, QC and Processing Manager and Er. Vipin Chaudhary, Zonal Head-Technical, Ultratech Cement were the resource persons.

Er. Abhishek Anand gave an overview of the cement industry and its importance in the construction sector. He then discussed the various types of cement, their properties, and their applications. He delved into the manufacturing process of cement, explaining each step in detail, and highlighted the importance of raw materials, the role of technology in the production process, and the challenges faced by the industry in terms of sustainability and environmental impact.

Vipin Chaudhary highlighted job prospects in the Aditya Birla Group of companies and shared his insights and experiences with the audience. He spoke on the diverse range of companies that form the Aditya Birla Group, including Ultratech Cements, Grasim Industries, Hindalco, and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. He discussed the different job profiles and functions within these companies, and the skills and qualifications required for various positions.

Welcoming the guest speakers and participants, Prof. Rizwan Ahmad Khan, Programme Coordinator said the manufacturing of cement is a critical process that impacts our economy and society. At a time when we are striving for sustainable growth and development, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process of cement. This seminar provides us with an excellent opportunity to discuss the latest developments in cement manufacturing and exchange ideas and experiences, he added.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, Chairperson, Prof. Izhar Farooqi said the seminar would foster collaboration and cooperation among participants and the sharing of our knowledge and experience is the key to driving innovation and progress in this industry. As we delve deeper into the intricacies of cement manufacturing, new avenues will be explored to make this process more sustainable and environment-friendly.
