Technical University of Munich secures EuroTeQ Engineering University until 2027
The European university alliance EuroTeQ can continue its joint training of engineers. The EU has extended funding for the successful program until 2027. Under the leadership of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), EuroTeQ is dedicated to expanding cooperation between eight universities in the future in the areas of study, teaching, research and lifelong learning.
“Our work in recent years has been based on the conviction that we need new and expanded approaches to engineering education of the future, in order to prepare our students for the opportunities and challenges associated with current social and technological developments,” says TUM Vice President for Studies and Teaching, Prof. Gerhard Müller. “We have already achieved a lot here and the EuroTeQ family is growing, connections are deepening and joint activities and new teaching formats are emerging. We are very grateful that the European Commission recognizes this and continues to support our ambitions. Together, we can reshape learning at our universities and, above all, redefine the engineering profession in a European context.”
Over the next four years, 12.8 million euros will be invested in the partners’ ambitious project entitled EuroTeQ 2030. EuroTeQ will focus on the following aspects:
The EuroTeQ Campus will be expanded with diverse study programs that will provide 50% of students an international experience in their studies in the future. The project already offers students the opportunity to take academic courses at the partner universities. The EuroTeQ course catalog lists 136 courses for which TUM students can currently register.
The EuroTeQ Collider enables unique challenge-based learning experiences in project teams with industry collaborations and teaches entrepreneurship skills. Vocational trainees and professionals are encouraged to participate.
The EuroTeQ Academy is developing lifelong learning offerings for employees and external professionals and is to launch agile training opportunities on the market. These include Micro-Credentials and an Executive Program for Senior Specialists.
The EuroTeQ Education Lab forms the interface between educational research and pedagogical practice, for innovative teaching formats and the internationalization of teaching staff.
