Texas A&M: Silver Taps To Honor Three Texas A&M University Students On April 5

Texas A&M University’s Silver Taps ceremony will be held April 5 at 10:30 p.m. to honor three Texas A&M University students who recently passed away.

Being honored will be Anne Arundel Locker-Thaddeus, an anthropology graduate student from College Station; Justin Rey Prenio Magtubo, a senior electrical engineering major from Pearland, Texas; and Weston Alan Miller, a freshman political science major from Houston.

Silver Taps will be held in person at the Academic Plaza. To honor these students, the campus will be darkened at 10:20 p.m. Students, family, friends and community members are invited to gather in the plaza in front of the Academic Building in silence. At 10:30 p.m., an honor guard from the Ross Volunteer Company will march to the plaza where its members will fire three rifle volleys to honor the students.

Those who are unable to attend in person are invited to watch the event via a Silver Taps YouTube Premiere hosted by the Division of Student Affairs at tx.ag/SilverTapsPremiere. The premiere is broadcast simultaneous to the live event. A YouTube Premiere is a prerecorded video with a set airtime that is played live with a live chat.

Silver Taps is held the first Tuesday of each month September through April, if necessary, following a student’s death. It is one of the final tributes held for any current professional, graduate or undergraduate student who has died during the year.
