Texas A&M: Texas A&M Announces Campus+ Partnership With Brookshire Brothers

Texas A&M University and grocery store chain Brookshire Brothers have announced a new Campus+ partnership, opening a unique, Aggie-themed location on the university campus, complete with a lounge area, concert stage and outdoor beer garden.

“We invited every grocery store to participate but Brookshire Brothers stepped up to the plate,” said Chancellor John Sharp. “While I was hoping for a grocery and pharmacy, Brookshire Brothers did so much more and hit it out of the park.”

The grocery store chain is the latest to enter a Campus+ partnership with the university, opening a conveniently located, West campus retail option on George Bush Drive for the on- and off-campus community alike.

“Brookshire Brothers prides itself on catering to the needs of the community and they have certainly accomplished that here,” said Shane Hinckley, Texas A&M vice president for brand development. “This new Aggie-themed on-campus facility is sure to become a destination for the entire Bryan-College Station community to find great food and enjoy a variety of outdoor entertainment options.”

The unique features of the store include a lounge and balcony seating, a large amphitheater called Stage 12 for concerts and other events, an outdoor beer garden and dining area, Brookshire Brothers Brews serving coffee, wine and beer. There are spaces available for private events.

“From the arches outside of the store to the products and spaces inside, every inch of this store was designed with Aggies in mind,” said Brookshire Brothers President and CEO John Alston. “Everywhere you look inside this 40,000-square-foot grocery store, there’s something new to discover. We’re proud to partner with The Texas A&M University System to bring a unique destination to the Bryan-College Station area.”

Brookshire Brothers is also partnered with Texas A&M Athletics and the university’s Deputy Athletics Director Michael Thompson said department staff is excited to partner with the company. “Their location and unique offerings provide an excellent destination for all Texas A&M students and fans,” he said. “As the Official Aggieland Watch Party location for Texas A&M Athletics, Stage 12 will be the perfect spot to watch Aggie games.”

The company, which is based in Lufkin, Texas, broke ground on the new project late last year with Sharp and other university and company officials on hand to mark the occasion.
