Thakur Polytechnic organizes Technofest 2018

Mumbai: Thakur Polytechnic organized Technofest 2018 on 23rd February at its campus located in Kandivali (E), Mumbai. 11 colleges with more than 750 students participated from across Maharashtra and approx. 180 projects were showcased during the one-day event. Each project comprises of a group of four students.

Technofest is the State level project competition cum exhibition for the polytechnic students, which showcases projects developed by the final year students of various polytechnics from the state of Maharashtra. Of the total 56 projects that were showcased from the stream of Mechanical Engineering, 37 projects participated for the State Level competition, and the rest 19 projects were part of internal display.

Additionally, 32 projects from the stream of Civil Engineering, 15 from Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, 10 from the Electronics Engineering, 15 from Information Technology, 33 projects from Computer Engineering, 10 projects on science by First-Year students and 10 projects from the Interior Designing, were all part of the internal projects making an impressive showcase at the event.

The principal of Thakur Polytechnic, Dr. S. M. Ganechari said, “Technofest, as a platform provides an opportunity to the students to showcase their technical awareness and presentation skills from various regions. Student and professionals come together for this extravagant event to exchange their ideas and views, developing synergies towards international integration.”

The festival concluded with a grand finale where winners for State Level Mechanical Engineering Projects were declared. The Omni Directional Forklift Project from Thakur Polytechnic, Kandivali (E) won the winner position. Runner-up was Six-Leg Kinematic Link Mechanical Spider project from Nav Jeevan Polytechnic, Bhandup, whereas the 1st Consolation went to Motorised Bicycle project by SVP Polytechnic, Borivali (W) and 2nd Consolation to the Pollution Ink project by the Thakur Polytechnic, Kandivali (E).
