Thapar University ties up with Tel Aviv University

New Delhi: Thapar University, (TU) signs a comprehensive institutional agreement with Tel Aviv University Israel (TAU). The MOU includes research, teaching and student exchange.
Tel Aviv University is consistently ranked in the top 20 in the world in terms of scientific citations and among the top 100 universities internationally. Thapar University is globally ranked in the World’s best university ranking, The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking.

Both Universities agree to establish a programme for academic cooperation. From the perspective of students, this agreement brings the benefits of credit transfer programs in engineering and life sciences, participation in TAU’s summer programs, post-doctoral fellowships and semester exchange opportunities.

The universities will also work together in research. Joint proposals to funding bodies and institutions are also envisaged. With over a hundred research centres, TAU “is defined by ground-breaking research, leading researchers and faculty, a strong interdisciplinary focus, and the values of globalism, pluralism and social responsibility.”

On signing the agreement Professor Joseph Klafter, President TAU commented “like Thapar, we’re strong in engineering and management, and also have a wide spectrum of departments across the sciences, humanities and arts.” Mr. Gautam Thapar, President Thapar University, emphasized that “strategic international partnerships enhance the quality and reach of Thapar University. Such synergistic partnerships enable students, the leaders of tomorrow, to learn to face world challenges. I am pleased that TAU and Thapar University have come together.”
