The 8th Cross-Border Elderly Care Seminar Development of Elderly Care Ecology in Greater Bay Area – Policy, Human Resources and Quality Assurance

Riding on the achievements of the past seven seminars, the seminar was jointly organised by Helping Hand, Hong Kong Association of Gerontology, Institute of Active Ageing and Centre for Gerontological Nursing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, Sau Po Centre on Ageing of The University of Hong Kong, and Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies of Lingnan University. Over 100 participants from government, non-government organisations and industrial stakeholders attended the seminar. With a focus on the theme of ‘Development of Elderly Care Ecology in Greater Bay Area – Policy, Human Resources and Quality Assurance’, various speakers shared opportunities and challenges they faced when implementing elderly care services in the Greater Bay Area.

The seminar also served as a communication platform for stakeholders to explore the potentials to enhance elderly services in the Greater Bay Area. The speakers also expressed their hope that the Hong Kong government would provide more policy support for cross-border elderly services offered within the Greater Bay Area so that more elderly will be benefited in the future.
