The Design Village (TDV) organized the “Green Carpet Advocacy” for sustainable living

The Design Village (TDV), organized an Orientation Week 2023 to welcome its 10th batch who took admission to UG and PG courses. The objective of the event was to give the new students information about their chosen design discipline, familiarize them with the ecosystem of the design village, and help them to adjust to the campus through a series of sessions and activities organized as a part of the orientation week.

The highlight of the orientation week was the “Green Carpet Advocacy Campaign 2023″. To raise awareness towards overconsumption and continuous resource use, led by the creative industry, students of The Design Village showcased the problems and interpreted solutions through multisensorial performances. The first-semester students designed their concept through the industrial waste collected from the vicinity to escalate the urgency of the issue.

20 teams with 5 students in each group with 10 mentors and 10 seniors as student mentors participated in this campaign as a part of the orientation to raise awareness about the growing concerns and the dark realities of the design industry. The winner was divided into three categories: The Impactful One: awarded to Group 7, The Conscious One: awarded to Group 5, and The Innovative One: awarded to Group 12.

Mridu Sahai, Co-Founder of The Design Village said ” As we welcome the Batch of 2023, The Design Village looks forward to enriching the journeys of learners that we have curated with great care.
