The Government of Karnataka recognizes Unisys for its commitment to the Roof Top Rainwater Harvesting projects in association with Forward Foundation and NASSCOM
BENGALUR – The Government of Karnataka has recognized Unisys (NYSE: UIS) among other companies for its support toward the successful implementation of the Roof Top Rainwater Harvesting project in 69 schools across Bengaluru in association with NASSCOM.
This project has supported around 24,000 children and their neighbourhood for their day-to-day water needs with over 27 million litres of water groundwater recharge making sure that they are self-sufficient.
Out of 69 schools, Unisys India has supported the successful implementation of rainwater harvesting in seven schools.
The felicitation ceremony took place in Bengaluru on December 6, 2022, where Unisys was recognized by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai.
Unisys has been one of the key sponsors for this sustainable initiative which comes under the consortium of NASSCOM GCC Bangalore and The Forward Foundation.
Honoured at the ceremony, Sumed Marwaha, managing director, Unisys India, said “Sustainability lies at the very core of our business objectives. While there is a lot more to achieve, this is just a small step toward a fair future. It is only through our collective efforts and shared values with the industry and government peers that we can bring a change”.
