The Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology hosted a seminar on the national costume.
KROO “Commonwealth of Peoples of Karelia” together with the Department of Technology, Fine Arts and Design of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of PetrSU (senior teacher A.V. Romanova and head of the department, Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor T.A. Voloshin) within the framework of the project “National Fashion Karelia – a modern style of relations “held a seminar” National costume – from the past to the present “for teachers of technology, teachers of additional education, costume specialists, designers, students of the Republic of Karelia.

Within the framework of the seminar, the chairman of the KROO “Commonwealth of Peoples of Karelia”, project leader L.N. Davydova spoke about the project “National Fashion of Karelia – Modern Style of Relationship”. Presentations were made on the traditional costume and headdress of the Olonets province, master classes were held, and collections were presented.

The masters shared the secrets of using traditional motives and technologies in modern design, noted the importance of knowledge of traditions and their preservation for design, because the fashion world is currently integrating traditions into a modern context, which was demonstrated by the fashion shows at the end of the second day of the event.

Traditionally, the head of the department T.A. Voloshin conducted an excursion for the guests of the seminar on the “City of Masters”, showing new workshops and laboratories of the Department of Technology, Fine Arts and Design.
