The second seminar of the Center for Academic Writing of PetrSU was held

At the university, various educational institutions are working to create a system for writing scientific texts. At the last seminar, such important types of scientific texts as theses and academic essays were considered. Much attention was paid to evidence-based reasoning – the scientific method of working on a text.
The seminar was held in a mixed format. Some of the listeners were present in person in the building of PetrSU №11, st. Pushkinskaya, 17; the rest were connected remotely – in a Zoom conference.

In the program of the seminar, at the request of the participants, materials were presented:

Abstracts in the context of teaching evidence-based reasoning (T.A. Babakova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of General and Professional Education, Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology).
Organization of independent work of students on the implementation of an academic essay in English, (senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​in the Humanities, Institute of Foreign Languages).
The technology of pedagogical support of students’ independent work on the implementation of an academic essay based on a feature film (A.A. Alekseev, Master’s student, Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences).
The seminar became the next link in the creation of a work system for writing scientific texts at the university. In November 2020, the Regulation on the Center for Academic Writing as a structural unit of the Pedagogical Innovation Park was developed and considered at the Academic Council of the Institute of Pedagogy and Pedagogy.

Materials – presentations, educational literature on the subject of academic writing, videos – at the request of listeners are posted in a group on VKontakte.
