The three-day multi-specialty free medical health camp Organised by AMU Alumni Association Qatar concluded at Abeer Medical Centre
DOHA: The AMU Alumni Association Qatar an (AO) of ICBF under aegis of Indian Embassy Qatar and Toastmasters International, organized the Free medical Health camp as a part of India@75(Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) on the occasion of International Labour day in association with Abeer Medical Centre on (Fridays) 05th, 12th and 19th May 2023. The three-day free multi-specialty camp was concluded on 19th May 2023 at Abeer Medical Centre.
The first camp was held on Friday, 5th May from 7-11 am and was inaugurated by Mr Abdulla Al Mohannadi, legal Advisor in the ministry of labour. Over 350 people benefited from the free health camp where besides medical check up they also had their blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid level checked.
Dr Nadeem Jilani, President of AMUAAQ expressed satisfaction at the successful drive and thanked Dr Nithyanand Director of Abeer Medical Center for offering their infrastructure and manpower for this noble initiative. Dr Nithyanand thanked all the dignitaries and community leaders of various social. AMUAAQ Board member Sanjeev Kumar Sharma was appreciated by team for deftly coordinating the program.
Mr Al Mohannadi, inspected the facility and interacted with the team of doctors, nursing staff, volunteers and blue collar workers. He lauded the community service initiative of AMUAAQ and praised the Abeer Medical Center management.
Earlier Dr Nithyanand, group director of Abeer Medical Group, Qatar welcomed the Chief Guest with bouquet of flowers. Dr Nadeem Jilani, President of AMUAAQ thanked the Chief Guest for his presence and appreciated Abeer Medical Center’s help in providing their infrastructure for this noble cause. Jawed Ahmad chairman AMUAAQ briefed about the AMUAAQ mission & vision and about four subdivision. Mr. Ahmad also mentioned that aim of the camp was to provide quality healthcare for people who are unable to afford the quality healthcare facilities.
The second free health camp was held on the Friday, 12th May. Mr EP Abdur Rahman, President of Indian Sports Center was the Chief Guest while Guests of honor included Mr Shanavas Bava (President ICBF), Mr Vinod Nair ( former president ICBF) and Mr Kabir of radio FM 107. This time the turn out was massive and over 500 people benefited from the free health camp. Mr. EP Abdur Rahman, Chief guest of the event highlighted that such medical camps can help raise awareness about health issues and help people to take necessary decisions about their health to stay fit.
The third free camp which was also supported by AMU Alumni Toastmasters Club was conducted on Friday 19th May 2023. Mr. Khwaja Nizamuddin Ahmad, Chairman, Telangana Wefare Association was the Chief Guest while Guests of honor was Mr. Naved Dastghir (GS, TWA). Again over 350 workers took advantage of the free health check up arrangements.
The initiative was well supported by the Singh Sewa Group, Overseas Friends Welfare Association (OFWA) and Nepalese Workers Welfare Association (NWWA). Besides staff & doctors from the Abeer Medical Center Industrial area, an eminent panel of doctors from AMU healthcare group working in Qatar offered their service at the camp. These included Dr Nadeem Jilani, president of AMUAAQ, Dr Syed Intekhab Alam (Head of Healthcare,AMUAAQ), Dr Sikandar Aftab, Dr Ashna Nusrat (VP Ladies), Dr Imtiaz Salim, Dr Musharraf Shamim and Dr Imran Mumtaz. Jawed Ahmad (Chairman AMUAAQ) and Sanjiv Kumar Sharma (Board member AMUAAQ) oversaw the smooth running of camps while Faisal Naseem, Farman Khan, Mamnoon Bangash, Farrukh Farooqi, Saima Rafat, Imaduddin Ahmad, Abad Khan, Dr.Mohammad Nayeem Aman, Poonam Sharma, Syed Shahabuddin, Mahjabeen Hussain and Asma Naz volunteered to guide the patients. ICBF VP, Mr. Deepak Shetty, Mohammed Kunhi (MC ICBF), Verkey Boban (MC ICBF) also graced the events with other community leaders.
Abeer Medical Center also launched a privilege card on this occasion which will offer holders of the card up to 25% discount on its services.
Mohammed Faisal Naseem (Vice President of AMUAAQ) in his closing vote of thanks expressed the gratitude to the team of doctors, Associated organizations of various countries, Abeer Medical Centre for making the program such a grand successful.
