The Top 100 Awardees of NCRC are provided with the Young Tech CEO Program held at IIT Madras Research Park
Chennai: SP Robotic Works, a Bengaluru & Chennai based Edutainment learning platform announced the results for one the biggest Online Robotics and Coding competitions – National Coding and Robotics Challenge (NCRC) 2020. It was conducted by SPRW to provide a productive and fun learning experience to children stuck at home due to the Covid pandemic. The Finalists & 100 Awardees are provided with the Young Tech CEO Program held at IIT Madras Research Park and many more awards and recognitions like Out of the Box Thinker, Promising Makers, Cool Presenter, Young Innovator and Popular Choice Awards including free ElectroBlocks kit and Codey Robot Kit to learn further.
A total of 14 finalists were selected based on public voting and scores from judges; 6 for the Junior category, 8 for the Senior category and out of those 6 students from both the categories won prizes worth INR 50 Lakhs along with scholarships by Study Malaysia and a fully sponsored stay at Sterling Holiday Resorts, and Tourism Malaysia. Moreover, the #1 Winner of both categories are awarded a fully sponsored Malaysian educational trip by Tourism Malaysia!
Both categories of students were given preliminary challenges using Android App Programming and Scratch coding to create COVID awareness based out of these projects, which instill Real World solutions in these students. Senior students created COVID Safe Android apps, while Junior students created Virtual Vacuum Cleaner robots. The following students won the accolades in the Senior category – Kancharla Srimahitraj of Visakhapatnam from Sanskruthi Global School won the first prize, Kaushik Chennai from SBOA International School won the second prize and Tharini of Bangalore from the Brigade school won the third prize. Whereas, in the Junior category – Yedhunandhan of Chennai from HLC International School won the first prize, Dehradun based Manishka of from Mondein House School Dehradun won the second prize and Siddhesh S.I of Chennai from Devi Academy Senior Secondary School won the third prize.
Commenting on the contest and the result, Sneha Priya, Founder of SP Robotic Works said, “At SP Robotic Works, we believe in providing a productive and fun learning experience to children and in order to make that happen, we organized the NCRC competition. We have a thriving Community of Makers who continuously participate in such challenges to keep themselves skilled and ahead! We were overwhelmed to see such huge participation and interest from 1000’s of students/Makers in our Community,despite COVID! We will continue to engage our Makers in the most intriguing way, in order to pave way for conceptual and practical learning of Science & Technology!
