The two-day District Udyam Samaagam which kick started in AIC-SMUTBI premises

 

Rangpo: The two-day District Udyam Samaagam which kick started in AIC-SMUTBI premises on 6th March, 2020, concluded today with the valedictory function.
The Samagaam was organised by the District Industries Centre (East &North), Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, and supported by the Office of Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, Government of India and AIC-SMUTBI. The event was inaugurated by Speaker, SLA, Shri L. B. Das.

With a sizeable number of enthusiastic entrepreneurs putting up their stalls, as well as a daylong session of plenary speeches by experts of the State and Centre from different fields in MSME, agriculture, Spices, the day was buzzing with activities. The entrepreneurs were made aware of the different schemes and avenues for development and growth of MSME enterprises.
The day’s session began with the business idea pitching competition with 16 participants and was very well received. An overwhelming response from lot of start-ups and enthusiastic entrepreneurs was seen. The pitching session was judged by panel of judges which included Mr. Atul Yeshwant Sant, Vice President (Manufacturing) CIPLA, Mr. Umesh Misra, Senior Vice President INTAS, Dr. Tej S. Chingtham CEO, AIC-SMUTBI, Shri N. Jaswant, IFS Director (MSME) and Mrs. Sumita Pradhan Director (Industries), Department of Commerce & Industries.
The closing session marked the award distribution to the winners of the best Startup/business idea pitching competition and felicitation of all the entrepreneurs from East district who participated in the event by Shri H.K. Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Commerce & Industries Department.
Mr. Pranay Kumar bagged the first best idea award for the startup idea of “The Chakras Farm”; Ms. Shova Sharma bagged the second best idea award for “The Queen’s Candles” and Ms. Sonam Choden Bhutia bagged the third best idea award for “Handmade Corn Husk flower”.
There was a very good response from the entrepreneurs of the East District and the event was successfully organised.
