There will be no lockdown in state: CM Chouhan

Bhopal :Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued directions to call for a Crisis Management meeting in all the districts and seek suggestions regarding the status of Corona. There will no lockdown in the state. Use of masks should be strictly enforced. Fine will be imposed on those who are negligent in this case. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the situation of Corona was controlled in the last eight months with the best management in the state and the people of the state also displayed awareness by extending their total support, the state government will continue its efforts to spread awareness. This balance must be maintained so that the economy is not affected and Corona remains under control. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the District Control Command Centers should remain active and proper care of isolation patients should also be ensured.

Concerned over the unexpected rise in number of positive cases in Bhopal and Indore yesterday, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, held a discussion with the district collectors regarding Corona through video conference today at Mantralaya. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that efforts should be made constantly to spread awareness for prevention against Corona. Collectors can also make innovative efforts to convey the message to the general public. People should be educated through announcements and efforts should be made at family level not to allow elderly people to go out of their homes. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that NGOs should also cooperate in awareness efforts. Wedding ceremonies and cultural activities should be organized with limited participation and there should be strict adherence to social distancing. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra and Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary were present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that night curfew may be imposed in cities where more cases of Corona infection come to the fore. Precaution may be increased in critical areas by forming small containment areas. Transports that move essential goods will also not be stopped. Precautionary efforts are being increased while maintaining the pace of the economy, so that Corona does not spread further.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the activities of industrial organizations should also remain unchanged. There will be no restriction on the movement of workers. Under the education system, Classes I to VIII will not be conducted till further orders. Colleges will also remain closed. Students of Class IX to XII and college students will be able to attend school / college for guidance as per the guidelines issued by the departments. Theatres can now operate with 50 per cent viewership as per prior arrangement.

Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Principal Secretary Health Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri M. Selvendran, Director Public Relations Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh were present in the meeting.

State’s recovery rate is 93 percent

In a detailed review today, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought information about the status of Corona in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there should be no lack of oxygen in any district, sufficient number of beds should also be made available, there should be a smooth arrangement of home isolation. It should be ensured that the targets of testing capacity are met and there is no crowd in public places. It was informed at the meeting that Madhya Pradesh ranks 15th in the country in terms of the number of active Corona cases. The state’s recovery rate is 93 percent. Currently 15 thousand tests are being conducted daily. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan held discussions with Bhopal and Indore Collectors regarding the number of positive patients this week and also sought information about the treatment facilities available. Collector Indore informed that efforts to stop unnecessary movement of people at night will be increased. Collector Bhopal informed that discussions are being held with traders’ associations. They are willing to close the market early voluntarily. Collector Jabalpur informed that activities like picnic and outing by the public are being discouraged. Families are being counseled on persuading senior citizens to remain at home. Collector Gwalior informed that awareness activities are being organized even in the absence of serious cases.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also sought information from collectors regarding the care being taken of home isolation patients. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that all the necessary measures to prevent Corona should be implemented without affecting economic activities.

Important decisions taken regarding prevention of Covid-19

Lockdown will not be imposed in any district, city or area except the containment zones in the state.

Inter-state and inter-district transportation will continue uninterrupted.

In cities with higher infection including Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratlam and Vidisha districts, shops, business establishments will be closed from 10 pm to 6 am from November 21 until the next order and citizens can move during this period only in case of urgency.

There will be no restriction on movement of industrial labourers and transportation of trucks.

All schools from Class I to VIII will remain closed until further orders. Students of Class IX to XII and College students will be able to come to schools / colleges for guidance as per the guidelines issued by the departments.

All citizens must strictly use face masks in all public places and this will be strictly enforced.

From November 21, District Crisis Management Committees will hold meetings in all the districts, and by November 22 all district collectors should send a proposal to the state government regarding the maximum limit of attendance to be fixed in marriages / social programmess and which areas should be made containment zones in the district.
