Third G20 Education Working Group Meeting commences in Bhubaneswar
The third G20 Education Working Group delegate-level Meeting under India’s G20 Presidency has commenced in Bhubaneswar today. Addressing the occasion, Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar said, ‘Education Working Group under India’s presidency is working collectively to underline the common realities and reiterate common commitments for joint action. It aims to improve the reach, quality, and outcomes of education, he added.
The Minister said, Guided by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Indian government is rethinking the ways deployed to develop, assess, and recognize skills. He called upon everyone to harness collective expertise and build robust research and innovation ecosystems, to achieve societal benefits.
Along with the deliberation, a week-long multimedia exhibition was also organized at the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar. The exhibition features active representation from industry, academia, government agencies, multilateral agencies, startups, and other organizations. Over 60 delegates from G20 member countries, invitee countries, and international organizations participated in the meeting. The delegates will visit the Konark Sun temple tomorrow. The temple is a symbol of the state’s rich cultural heritage and is a popular tourist destination.
