The Third Undergraduate Convocation of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Xavier University, Bhubaneswar(XUB), one of the premier Universities of India, held its 3rd Undergraduate Convocation on April 22, 2019.
A total of 100 students from the Xavier School of Commerce, the Xavier School of Communications and from the Xavier School of Sustainability graduated this year.

Shri Asit Tripathy, IAS, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Odisha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation address. Amongst the distinguished personalities present were Officials of Xavier University Bhubaneswar, noted academicians, corporate leaders, parents of the graduating students and guests.
The top rank holders across schools were honored with Gold Medals for Academic Excellence by the Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Fr. Paul Fernandes S.J., the Vice Chancellor, Xavier University Bhubaneswar awarded the degrees to the graduating students and wished them all the very best for the future.
The convocation ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Fr. E. A. Augustine, S.J., Registrar, Xavier University Bhubaneswar. In his speech he congratulated the passing out batch of 2019 and their proud parents. He urged the students to be the light to the world, always have faith and never be afraid of the future as they have been groomed to face the challenges of the world.

In his address the Chief Guest highlighted the tremendous scope for employment and how the economy would throw up a host of opportunities for the enterprising youngsters of this generation. He also stressed on how the graduates would reap success for themselves and serve society by taking up entrepreneurial challenges. The Chief Guest concluded his speech by wishing everyone luck and congratulating the graduating students and their parents

The Deans of the schools through their reports highlighted the various achievements of the University, faculty and students in the past year that had brought laurels and global recognition to Xavier University Bhubaneswar in the sphere of research, academia, sports and cultural activities.
Prof P.K. Mohanty, Academic Dean, Xavier School of Commerce, Dr. Donald D’Silva, S.J. Academic Dean, Xavier School of Communications and Prof. S. Peppin, Academic Dean, Xavier School of Sustainability Management presented their respective school’s Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the school.
