Thousands of Graduands from Law domain receive Degrees during Convocation 2019 at Amity University
New Delhi: Beaming with proud smiles, over a 1000 graduands from Faculty of Law domain received their degrees and diplomas, in the presence of their parents, guardians and friends, during Convocation 2019 at Amity University, Sector 125 Noida.
During the occasion, Honorary Doctorate Degrees were conferred upon Mr. Aditya Puri, Managing Director, HDFC Bank; Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Member, International Court of Justice, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, Hon’ble Chairperson Lokpal by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group of Institutions, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the graduands as ‘Distinguished Alumni’, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan said that the alumni of Amity are amongst the best in the world since they have studied not only to be global professionals but has also been nurtured to be a good human being. He advised the graduands to have an aim in life and keep pursuing towards the goal despite the challenges. He further opined that a person can succeed, if he or she opts for a path by identifying the talent, interest and opportunities to rise. Dr. Chauhan shared the three missions of his life, firstly, to make India a Superpower and the way India is developing, it will be possible sooner than expected. Second, to make Amity Group of Institutions as the best in the world and lastly, to synergize the best of Indian brains to rule the world in the area of science and innovation who will transform the society, positively.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Aditya Puri thanked his family, colleagues and friends for being a pillar of support throughout his personal and professional journey. He said, “The world is changing around us and change creates opportunities. I strongly believe that this change will be beneficial to individuals and society, at large.” He acknowledged the slowdown in economy and apprised that the policy makers and stakeholders are working to turn it around and furthermore assured that the country is growing at a steady pace as there is urbanization leading to various demands, expansion of middle income and the nation is running forefront at indigenous technology and innovation. Dr. Puri reinstated that substantial jobs will be created with digitization. “Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Computing and Communications have changed the business models which has led to better products in market. Banking sector has also witnessed dramatic progress and changed the way it works, making banking procedures simpler.” he pointed out. In conclusion, Dr. Puri advised the graduands to work hard and be confident about their abilities to succeed in life.
Accepting the honoris causa, Justice Dalveer Bhandari expressed his gratitude towards the honor bestowed upon him and commended Amity Education Group for its global footprint with numerous campuses across the globe. He said that in short span of time, Amity has carved out a unique position in legal education. Interacting with graduands, Justice Bhandari said that law is a fascinating profession which develops the personality of the professional to the fullest. He averred that to succeed in legal profession, one must possess a mindful sense of humour, good presence of mind along with in-depth knowledge of law.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose expressed his gratitude and shared his happiness over being part of Amity family. He said that in legal profession, there are vast avenues that one can explore. He remarked that discipline, devotion and love for subject is a must to succeed.
Highlighting the pioneering achievements of Amity University in last academic year, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that Amity has been rewriting and reshaping the educational benchmark under the able guidance of Founder President and Chancellor AUUP. She remarked that Amity has a global footprint visions in which soon there will be an Amity University in every state of the country and a campus in every country across the globe. She apprised about the latest abroad campus being established at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Dr. Shukla called upon the Graduands to go forth and keep the Amity flag high as they are the brand ambassadors of their Alma mater. She opined that it is the combination of professional excellence, personal experience and social consciousness that will make your way to success.
During the day, a new branch of HDFC Bank was inaugurated at Amity University Noida campus by Mr. Aditya Puri and Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, for the convenience of all Amitians.
