Three-day Yoga workshop concludes

 

ALIGARH  : Students and teachers of the Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged, Aligarh Muslim University enthusiastically participated and enjoyed various events held during the three-day Yoga workshop, which concluded here yesterday. The Yoga workshop was organized by the Ahmadi School to mark the International Day of Yoga.

Manju, a class X student won the first prize in the essay writing competition held by the school on “Importance of Yoga”, while Mohd Shahbaz Ali (Class X) and Shehzan (Class IX) bagged the second and third prize, respectively.

Mr Mohammad Jafar (SDM, Aligarh), who graced the valedictory function as the chief guest, gave away mementos and certificates to the winners of the essay competition and other participants, while the Matron, Mrs Nudrat and Mr Salman Sabir (former member, AMU Court) distributed gifts to the students of class IX and X.

Prof Afshan Bey (Department of Periodontics and Community Dentistry, Dr ZA Dental College, AMU) was the guest of honour.

Mrs Asifa Rana (Civil Judge, Aligarh) was the chief guest in the second day programmes and Dr S M Mustafa (Principal, Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School, AMU) graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

Earlier, Mr Syed Ahtasham Akbar (Officiating Vice Principal) welcomed the guests and Mr Niaz Ahmad Khan extended vote of thanks.

School staff and students participated in the Yoga sessions in a large number under the supervision of the Physical Instructor, Mrs Sana Raza.
