Three programs of PetrSU have passed professional and public accreditation

Educational programs in the areas of training bachelor’s degree “Psychology”, “Technological machines and equipment” and master’s degree “Technological machines and equipment” have successfully passed professional and public accreditation in the Leningrad Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LOTPP).
While undergoing accreditation, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology and the Institute of Forest, Mining and Construction Sciences conducted a comprehensive self-examination of their educational programs.

The auditors examined the classrooms and premises involved in the educational process in the above areas of training.

A tour of the Department of Transport and Technological Machines and Equipment of PetrSU was conducted by the head of the department, Professor A.P. Sokolov. The employer’s representative – a process engineer, head of the machining group of AEM-Technologies Petrozavodskmash JSC Sergey Kostyakov told LOTPP specialists about his organization’s cooperation with PetrSU, about the level of theoretical training of bachelors and undergraduates who receive practical knowledge and skills within the walls of the enterprise.

The auditors learned about the department of psychology of PetrSU and the program of training students in this area from the acting head of the department N.O. Dementieva. A graduate of PetrSU in 2014, and now a teacher of the MBOU “Children’s Youth Center” Victoria Strok, assessed the knowledge of the students of the department who come to the institution of additional education for practice, recalled what thematic projects, together with PetrSU, is being implemented by this municipal budgetary educational institution.

The meeting with the management, teachers, students and alumni of Petrozavodsk University, representatives of enterprises and organizations allowed LOTPI specialists to receive comprehensive information about accredited educational programs, to hear the opinion of those who receive education here about PetrSU, to assess the degree of employers’ involvement in the process of training specialists.

According to the results of the accreditation check, all three educational programs (in the areas of preparation of the bachelor’s degree “Psychology” , “Technological machines and equipment” and the master’s degree “Technological machines and equipment” ) earned high marks from experts and received certificates of successful completion of the accreditation examination for the maximum possible period of 5 years …
