THSC along with Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and NSDC Conducts an Industry Meet in Delhi to promote Apprenticeship Scheme.

New Delhi: Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), a sector skill council for Tourism and Hospitality industry under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) conducted an Industry Meet last week to promote Apprenticeship Scheme.The much awaited National Apprenticeship Portal for Service Industry trades is now LIVE and THSC encouraged the establishments to visit the portal www.apprenticeshipindia.org to explore and register.

To address all matters related to Apprenticeship Scheme, and update the industry about the newly introduced reforms, NSDC Officials in the presence of Mr. Rajesh Agarwal (Joint Secretary & CVO, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) chaired the sessions.

During the event, Industry Leaders, HR Heads representing Oberoi Group, Radisson Group of Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotel Group, Clarks Inn Group, Le Meridian, Park Group of Hotels, Sarovar Group, Hilton Hotel, Sodexo, Leela Hotel, Taj Group of Hotels, Burger King, Speciality Restaurants, Burger Singh, ISS, UDS, Compass, Quess among others expressed enthusiasm and collaboration towards the efforts of Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council.

Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Joint Secretary, MSDE emphasised that it is our collective responsibility to ensure a brighter future for the youth because the future of the country rests on their shoulders. He extended full support to the Industry and encouraged all to enrol apprentices in all units to the maximum capacity of 10%. He highlighted key reforms such as introduction of optional trades, discretion to industry to design courses, inclusion of Graduates/Skilling ecosystem candidates, dedicated portal and other automated processes.

Mr. Surajit Roy, Sr Head – Apprenticeship Division, NSDC made a detailed presentation to the audience on the benefits of the Apprentice Scheme rolled out by the Government of India. He welcomed industry’s immense support towards Skill India Mission and mentioned that it was an opportunity for all to make a difference and touch many lives.

Dr. Sonali Sinha, Chief Operating Officer, Tourism and Hospitality Skill encouraged that the day be used as an opportunity to strengthen industry connect through Apprenticeship scheme. She also quoted the importance of Skill India Mission, which is bigger than all of us and we must whole heartedly be invested in the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.

During the Industry Meet, Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Mr.Surjit Roy and Dr. Sonali Sinha gave clarity to the industry on many legal and operational aspects of the Apprenticeship Scheme.

THSC is now notified as NAPS Advisors: Dr. Sonali Sinha, COO, THSC , is empowered to execute the contract between Employer and Apprentice.
Creating Curriculum for sector specific job roles.
Handholding Industry to operationalize Apprenticeship Scheme: THSC has a team dedicated to implementation of NAPS.
Operationalizing NAPS at unit levels: THSC will assist industry from enrollment to financial settlement under NAPS.
