The course is designed to train professionals in one of the industry’s most sought-after technological skills and help accelerate their careers.

To be eligible, an applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate score and two years of working experience. Knowledge of Python programming is a prerequisite. Applications will open from September 1, 2021, the details of which are available on https://timestsw.com/technology/courses/iit-roorkee-certificate-program-in-machine-learning/. The program will commence from November 20, 2021.

Speaking about the program, Varun Dhamija, Chief Strategy Officer, said, “We have observed a rising interest among professionals to upskill themselves with current and new technologies to stay relevant in the dynamic workplace. They prefer short-term modules and certifications that they can quickly complete and add to their profiles. Our certificate program is an avenue to provide executives the opportunity to specialise in the futuristic technology of machine learning from one of the most reputable institutions – IIT-Roorkee. Candidates can leverage this specialisation to continue to grow their careers during these tough times. Like our other learning initiatives, this certificate program aims to help bridge the gap between needs of the industry and availability of talent with requisite skills.”

Speaking about the rise in demand for Machine Learning skills, Prof. Partha Pratim Roy, said, “This pandemic is being fought on the basis of data and numbers. Machine Learning is a technology that has the power to help us with an early understanding of the problem and quick resolution, by analysing a vast quantity of data. With the growth in the amount of data generated every day, demand for Machine Learning is rising. The World Economic Forum estimates that by 2025, [1] 463 exabytes of data will be created each day globally. With the enormous growth in data, the need for processing it has also increased. Through this joint certificate program, we will teach students how to harness the power of Machine Learning to process huge amounts of data and yield powerful insights that can be critical to help drive businesses amid the ongoing uncertainty.”

Machine-learning algorithms use statistics to find patterns in massive* amounts of data. And data, here, encompasses a lot of things—numbers, words, images, clicks, what have you. If it can be digitally stored, it can be fed into a machine-learning algorithm.

The certificate program by Times Professional Learning and IIT-Roorkee is designed for working professionals from various fields. It will help them unlock the value of corporate

and customer data, and enact the decisions that keep their company ahead of the competition.

The six-month-long program will involve 68 hours of live online sessions by Prof. Partha Pratim Roy, Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT-Roorkee and industry experts. With 26 hours of immersive project work, the program also provides learners an opportunity to put concepts to practice.
