Tobacco Free Educational Institution drive

 

Aligarh : To inculcate awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco, Indira Gandhi Hall, AMU , organized a drive on “Tobacco free Educational Institution” (ToFEL) to enforce the provisions of COTPA, 2003, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

In the interest of healthy living and clean environment, Prof Sheeba Hamid (Provost IG Hall) announced IG Hall a ‘No Smoking, Tobacco Free Zone”

Dr Zebus Sehar (Resident warden), Dr Nazish Begum and Dr Sumbul Rehman (Non-resident wardens) highlighted the negative effects of tobacco and emphasized on the health hazards of smoking /tobacco consumption and how it becomes an economic burden on the family. Dr Nazish also recited a poem in Hindi on ill effects of tobacco consumption.

Mohd Zafaruddin, senior employee of the hall shared his views on the addictive habit and advised to avoid tobacco consumption in any form.

All the wardens, office staff and employees of the hall participated in this program.
