Tohoku University Ranks Top in Japan for Fourth Consecutive Year
Times Higher Education (THE) has released its annual list of top Japanese universities, and Tohoku University is ranked number one for the fourth year in a row.
While THE’s annual World Rankings focus on research influence and data, the Japan list shifts the spotlight towards institutional resources, quality of education and overall student experience.
The 16 metrics used to determine the Japan rankings include effective use of resources, teaching and learning environment and international outlook of staff and students.
Tohoku University has consistently placed in the top three of THE’s Japan University lists since rankings began in 2017. It continues to score well for its global curriculum, its high number of international faculty, students and collaborations, as well as its academic reputation, which measures how well employers view graduating students.
