Tourism Directorate hosts workshop for Tourism stakeholders
JAMMU : Directorate of Tourism, Jammu in collaboration with Food and Craft Institute, Nagrota organised a workshop for Tourism stakeholders to raise the standards of Hospitality industry in preparation for upcoming tourist season and reactivation of Tourism sector over the next few months.
The workshop was inaugurated by Jyoti Bhatti, Principle FCI, Nagrota. The Workshop was attended by 30 participants from various Hotels of Jammu.
While speaking at the opening of the workshop he said “The participants are local staff of hotels and the workshop will benefit the attendees as they will acquire new knowledge and skills.”
Speaking on the occasion, Natasha Kalsotra, Joint Director Tourism said “The workshop is important as it will shape and optimize the Hospitality chain in Tourism sector. The Workshop will train the participants in a range of skills to enhance their flexibility, adaptability and readiness to serve across a multitude of functions enabling them to react positively.
Amar Jyoti Raina, Deputy Director Tourism, Jammu while addressing media said “As the Industry strives to emerge from the pandemic, stronger and more re-silent than ever, these workshops are facilitator for real and genuine transformation which is the need of the hour”.
It was designed around the key theme “Behavioral etiquettes, innovation and future”. Also, it had a special session on COVID-19 sensitization. The resource persons included Rajinder Singh Faculty FCI, Gagan Deep Faculty FCI etc.
Inspite of unprecedented challenges, the tourism sector has to focus on multiple fronts be it digitization, sanitation, health, customer service and more. These workshops not only provide adaptability but also hold the key to increase profitability and success for this Industry as it strives to offer guests highly personalized travel experiences that fulfill their ever changing needs and expectations.
In the end certificates were distributed to the participants.
