Trainee officers of National Defense College call on Governor

Bhopal : Governor Shri Lalji Tandon was today called upon by trainee Military and Civil Service officials of the National Defense College, New Delhi at Raj Bhavan on their state visit. These included military officers from Russia, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. The Governor said that the scope of national security is wide. It also includes military responsibilities, preservation of traditions, culture, history, geography and various sections of the country.

Governor Shri Tandon said that security forces have an important role in development as well as in the defense of the nation. He said that along with external security, security forces are also required to face internal challenges like natural calamities and law and order of the couuntry. Shri Tandon said that the more we know the country, the greater will be the reverence and pride for the country.

The Governor said that the study tour is a face-to-face meeting with the nature of a nation. He said that India is a wonderful nation. Geographically, there are mountains, forests and seas here. There are deserts, rocky and plain land here. There are many groups with different costumes, languages, food and ethics. There are many practices and traditions that make them miraculous.

At the outset, Major General Arvind Walia told that the Defense College organizes training of Civil Army officials of India other nations every year. Trainees are taken on a study tour in various states in the first six weeks of the total 47-week training programme. During this period, the participants brainstorm on the social, political and economic situation of the states.
