Aligarh : The Training and Placement Office (General) of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a corporate meet at Kennedy Auditorium, entitled IGNITE, powered by IMCS Group. The corporate meet was focussed on digital transformation with an aim to provide students with insights into the corporate world from accomplished professionals, particularly from the technology industry.

The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony Dr. Syed Masarrat Ali, (Senior Director at Acrivon Therapeutics) highlighted the importance of the university-industry interface and advised students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and work on improving them.

University Registrar Mr. Mohammad Imran IPS praised the diversity of students’ culture at AMU and urged the students to read about finance, economy and technology. He also commended the efforts of the Training and Placement Office in organising the event and assured the companies that the students hired from AMU would be valuable assets to their respective organisations.

Mr. Vijay Ranjan (HR Head and General Manager, LG Electronics) described the importance of data and talked about the fear people have of losing their jobs. His advice to the students was to use stress as fuel and look at it as an opportunity to perform. He also praised the discipline of the students.

Earlier, Dr. Muzammil Mushtaq, the Organising Secretary delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude for the opportunity for students to learn from industry experts.

Mr. Jahangir Alam, the Co-convener, provided a comprehensive presentation highlighting the importance of university-industry relationships and their outcomes, including internship and job opportunities, workshops, and transfer of technology.

Mr. Saad Hameed, the Convener and TPO General felicitated the guests and the student coordinators of the event’s organising committee, highlighting the students’ talent and their potential to contribute positively to any organisation they work with.

At the end of the Inaugural Session, the chief guest Dr. Syed Masarrat Ali emphasised the fact that AMU students are well equipped to face any and all challenges. He exhorted the students to learn and improve. He also announced the Badar Jahan Scholarship for Girls pursuing UG Courses at the University and Global Education Initiative Scholarship for Post Graduation and Post Doctor Education in Foreign Universities.

Miss Kritikha Ram, a panelist said “we have a lot of opportunities for students who are willing to work with the community. If there are students, especially young women willing to build their skills around technology, life skills or leadership we’d be happy to give them an opportunity”.

A panel discussion on digital transformation: corporate expectations, opportunities and challenges was also organised.

The panel included Mr. Vijay Ranjan (General Manager – LG Electronics), Mr. Tabish Bin Sabir (Vice President – IMCS Group), Mr. Syed Abbas (Director – Axciom Consulting), Mr. Tariq Mehbood (Senior Manager – Den Networks), Mr. Rahul Gupta (Co-founder – Flamon Cloud Tech), Mr. Bhupendra Singh (Manager – Genpact), Mr. Ankit Agarwal (CTO – Hexaview Technologies), Mr. Darpan Pradhan (Regional HR – Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance), Ms. Krithika Ram (Vice President – Medha Foundation), Mr. Shah Raza (National Sales Head – NDTV India), and Mr. Tausifur Rehman (Founder & Director – Stepping Cloud)

The dignitaries also visited the Faculty of Management Studies and Research where they were apprised of the resources and facilities available to the students.
