Training for Fertilizer Dealers concludes at KVK Rajouri

 

RAJOURI : Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Rajouri under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu conducted a 15 day certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for input dealers of fertilizer.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Prof J P Sharma and Director Extension, Prof. S. K Gupta of SKUAST-Jammu.

Dr S.K. Gupta, Director Extension, SKUAST-Jammu attended the valedictory programme through virtual mode as the Chief Guest.

At the beginning of the programme, Dr Arvind Kumar Ishar, Senior Scientist and Head, welcomed Dr S.K. Gupta, Director Extension, SKUAST-Jammu and trainees and described the genesis of the programme. He highlighted the significance of training for input Dealers. He informed that the programme was attended by 25 participants hailing from different areas of district Rajouri. During 15 days of training, trainees were educated regarding different aspects of fertilizers, their composition, use and safe handling. During the training, lectures were delivered by an eminent scientist of SKUAST-Jammu, resource persons from the Department of Agriculture on different aspects of plant nutrition and soil health. Thread bear discussions were held among trainees and experts during technical sessions. Demonstrations and Practicals were also conducted during the training as Seeing is believing and learning by doing is the basic principle of learning.

Speaking on the occasion Dr S. K . Gupta, Director Extension deliberated that such training for input dealers will help them to run their business smoothly following the latest laws and orders formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He also informed that input dealers are an important link between farmers and scientists. Participants thanked the KVK for organizing this training and requested organizing such training in future also. Certificates were distributed among the participants. During the programme, Dr Vikas Sharma, Sr. Scientist, RARS, Rajouri, Dr Rohit Sharma and Dr Parul Gupta were also present. Tariq Hussain and Lokesh Sharma played a pivotal role in conducting the training programme for 15 days successfully, concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr Suraj Parkash, Scientist ( Extension Education).
