Training programme for implementation of PMFBY held at Khanabal, Anantnag

Fast assessment and disbursement of claims to be ensured: DC

 

ANANTNAG: The Agriculture Department Anantnag today organised a one day training programme for officers and other stakeholders regarding implementation of PM Fasal Bima Yojna on ground for Rabi Crop season 2021-22 under ‘Aazadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav at Dak Bungalow, here.

During the programme, the experts from Agriculture department and insurance companies explained the methods for implementing the scheme, use and benefits of the said scheme for the farmers.

Speaking at the gathering, the Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag gave brief information about the different aspects of the yojna. He said that farmers have to bear a small premium of 2 percent of the sum assured and the rest will be borne by UT and State. He further said that this yojna will be most helpful to farmers in case of loss to crops.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla stressed on involving BDOs,Tehsildars, PRIs and local administration to get the maximum results. He further directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to organise awareness camps at block level for the farmers.

Dr Singla emphasised upon the officers for timely settlement of farmers claims with regard to loss of crops. He said that this scheme is a game changer for the agricultural economy.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture officials besides the media fraternity.
