Training session held on SCC Online

 

ALIGARH  : The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University conducted a training session for the BALLB students in the legal research database Supreme Court Cases (SCC) Online, which is the most cited law report by the Supreme Court of India. The training session was conducted by Mr Taha Bin Tasneem, Student Ambassador, SCC Online.

Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. MZM Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law emphasised the challenges of research in physical and online resource databases and underlined the relevance of SCC Online. He said the Faculty of Law has subscribed to the e-resources and urges faculty members, librarians, researchers and students to harness the SCC database for its optimum utilization.

The event was streamed on Google Meet for the students of the Department of Law at AMU Malappuram and Murshidabad centres.

Mr Taha demonstrated the procedure for on-campus access while Mr Haroon, a BALLB student explained the ways for off-campus access to SCC Online.

The resource persons explained the basic prerequisites of legal research and a thorough demonstration of various tools available on the legal research database SCC Online was made for easy reference to students. The training session included activity-based learning through SCC Online for more than 70 participants.
