Tributes paid to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Anniversary at O.P. Jindal School
Angul: Corridor of O.P. Jindal School vibrated with tapping toes of students and staff celebrating 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with great ardour. Principal, staff and students wholeheartedly paid floral tributes to the great soul on the occasion in the midst of the melodious Ramdhun and Vaishnava Janat lyrics presented by School choir. The Father of the Nation was depicted poetically and remembered as a man of great resolution as well as an ardent acolyte of truth, peace and non-violence by Mr Chhanda Charana Das, Principal in his welcome address. Among the other teachers speakers who highlighted various dimensions of personality traits of M.K.Gandhi include Dr Arun Kumar Dash, Dr Imran Perwaiz, Mr Debashish Dutta and Mrs Puja Pathak. Celebrating the glorious occasion, a series of spectacular activities like speech, drawing song and Essay Writing competitions along with a theme-based exemplary enactment on the life and character of Mahatma Gandhi were flamboyantly presented by the students of class-V and VI directed by Mrs Hemlata Mishra and Mrs Swati Pandey. A special quiz contest was organised on the occasion on the school premises by students under deft coordination by Mrs Lilly Mohanta, CCA In charge and Dr Imran Perwaiz, the quiz master. The winner contestants were felicitated on the occasion. With the pledge “BIG NO “ for single use plastics followed by recitation of National Anthem by staff and students, the whole programme came to a delightful end.
