Focusing on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on comprehensively strengthening the party’s discipline construction, Qiu Yong shared his thoughts and understanding on strengthening the “four determinations” in combination with the actual work of the school. First, to enhance political determination, it is necessary to strictly enforce political discipline and political rules and resolutely implement the main responsibility of the party committee. The school party committee must always adhere to and strengthen the party’s overall leadership over the school, select and use cadres well, strengthen the constraints and supervision on the exercise of power, support the work of discipline inspection and supervision agencies, and resolutely correct behaviors that harm the interests of the masses. The main responsible comrades of the party committees at all levels must insist on planning and deploying party building work and central work in an integrated manner, grasp the specific and specific work, and cultivate their own responsibility fields. Second, to enhance disciplinary determination, it is necessary to firmly grasp the “key minority” and manage the “vast majority” well, and maintain a strict tone, strict measures, and strict atmosphere for a long time. To give full play to the exemplary role of the “key minority” of leading cadres, it is also necessary to insist on strict standards for cadres, strict measures for managing cadres, and strict discipline for cadres, so that cadres will be afraid, cautious in words, and restrained in actions. Third, to enhance moral determination, it is necessary to resolutely rectify the stubborn diseases of formalism and bureaucracy, and promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of style construction. We must inherit and carry forward the fine traditions and style of the Party, resolutely oppose the idea of ​​privilege and the phenomenon of privilege, be honest and upright in life and work, and always maintain a clean and honest political character. We must go deep into the grassroots, the masses, teachers and students, fully respect the grassroots spirit of innovation, and take the initiative to create a good environment for doing things and starting businesses. Fourth, to enhance the determination to resist corruption, we must carry forward the spirit of thorough self-revolution and deepen the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party. We must build a solid ideological and moral defense line, guard the line of defense against corruption and change, enhance the ability to resist risks, and resolutely guard the political, power, communication, and life barriers. We must implement the Party rules and regulations with the spirit of nailing nails, form rigid constraints, and never let the system become a “scarecrow” and form a “broken window effect.” Qiu Yong said that through the study and education of party discipline, all party members and cadres in the school must understand what the party’s discipline and rules are, understand what they can and cannot do, engrave compliance with rules and regulations in their hearts, internalize them into a code of conduct, further strengthen discipline awareness, strengthen self-discipline, improve immunity, enhance political resolve, disciplinary resolve, moral resolve, and anti-corruption resolve, and always be loyal, clean, and responsible.

Qiu Yong emphasized that the Party discipline study and education should strictly implement the spirit of the Central Committee, accurately grasp the target requirements, and closely combine with the actual work of Tsinghua University, constantly strengthen the awareness of “flag” and “benchmark”, and combine the study of Party discipline with warning education, with the study of systems and regulations, with the study of ideas to strengthen party spirit, and with the implementation and promotion of rectification. Only by adhering to strict standards, practical style, and iron discipline can we forge the character of “Qing” and the style of “Hua”, maintain a clean and upright atmosphere, build a thriving cause, and write an excellent answer sheet for high-quality development.

When sharing his learning experience, Xiang Botao said that strict political discipline is a distinctive feature of Marxist political parties, an inevitable requirement for the party’s political construction, an important foundation for the construction of various disciplines, and a rigid constraint on the serious life within the party. We must further compare the requirements of the “Regulations”, find problems in ourselves and our work areas, and implement strict political discipline and political rules in every work. Peng Gang said that we must keep a good checkpoint and take responsibility for our work, strengthen our political resolve by adhering to the principle of right and wrong, strengthen our disciplinary resolve by self-discipline and strict management, strengthen our moral resolve by strengthening our self-cultivation and pursuing noble sentiments, and strengthen our resolve to resist corruption by building a strong dam for systems and ideas, and do our best to achieve high-quality development for the cause of the party and the people and for the school’s related work on the new journey. Xu Qinghong said that we must firmly support the “two establishments” and resolutely implement the “two safeguards”, and deeply understand that strengthening discipline construction is the fundamental solution to comprehensively and strictly governing the party, and is an important guarantee for promoting the construction of an education power and accelerating the construction of world-class universities. We will carry out party discipline learning and education together with strengthening style construction, constantly create a strict atmosphere, and provide strong political guarantees for the development of the school’s cause.

In the reading class, the members of the school leadership team combined their own thoughts and work realities, talked about their learning experiences, and also talked about the next direction of efforts and ideas and measures, so as to achieve the effect of colliding thoughts, mutual inspiration, and common improvement, forming a strong learning atmosphere. Wang Rui, secretary of the school Youth League Committee, said that strict discipline is the glorious tradition and unique advantage of the party. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee has revised the “Regulations” three times, fully demonstrating our party’s firm determination and strong will to promote self-revolution.
