Tsinghua University Marks Milestone with First Young Marxist Training Program Closing Ceremony
On the afternoon of June 27th, the first closing ceremony of the Tsinghua University Young Marxist Training Program (hereinafter referred to as the “Young Marxist Training Program”) and the second opening ceremony were held. Vice President Wang Hongwei delivered a written speech, Yang Diange, Director of the Party Committee Teacher Work Department, made a mobilization speech for the opening ceremony, and He Jianyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism, made a special report. The opening ceremony was hosted by Hu Jianming, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Teacher Work Department.
Wang Hongwei congratulated the first batch of “Youth Marxist Class” students on their successful completion. He said that the school held the “Youth Marxist Class” to cultivate a group of young Marxists with loyal political character, strong patriotism, solid theoretical foundation, and outstanding ability and quality. After a year of solid study and practice, the students have fully understood the profound path and latest achievements of the sinicization of Marxism. In the future work and study, they should consciously become firm believers and faithful practitioners of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. In line with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important reply to Mr. Yao Qizhi, Wang Hongwei expressed his expectations for the second batch of “Youth Marxist Class” students, hoping that everyone will firmly cultivate the ideals and beliefs of a great country teacher with the spirit of educators, build a solid foundation of faith, integrate the “small self” of teachers’ professional development into the “big self” of realizing national rejuvenation, and hand in Tsinghua’s answer sheet to comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese-style modernization.
Yang Diange said that Tsinghua University has been deeply promoting the core strategy of strengthening the school through talent, attaching great importance to the political and ideological guidance of the talent team, continuously improving the system and mechanism of teachers’ ideological and political construction, and guiding teachers to take serving the country as their highest pursuit. In combination with the school’s series of measures to strengthen the teachers’ ethics and ideological and political construction, Yang Diange put forward the expectation for the second batch of “Youth Marxist Class” students to strengthen theoretical armament, strengthen practical learning, and play a demonstration role. He hopes that through a year of study and discussion, all students can consciously strengthen their belief in Marxism and contribute to the high-quality development of the school with their youth and struggle.
Jin Tianyu, a representative of the first batch of students and a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Education, said that young teachers in the new era must have ideological awareness and sense of responsibility. They must not only focus on theoretical learning, but also engage in practical training. On the one hand, they must have an in-depth understanding of the history of the Party and enhance their understanding of the revolutionary spirit. On the other hand, they must constantly pursue excellence in scientific research and contribute to national construction.
He Jianyu gave a report on the theme of “Being a 21st Century Marxist Based in Contemporary China”. He said that as young Marxists in the new era, young teachers should have a global vision, follow the scientific attitude of upholding the truth and making innovations, adhere to the fundamental position of putting the people first, and actively devote themselves to the cause of education.
