Tsinghua University, National Museum of China to jointly protect cultural relics
Tsinghua University and the National Museum of China recently signed an agreement on establishing a joint center to protect cultural relics using science and technology.
The center aims to promote educational programs and technical innovation capacities in relic protection and restoration.
Drawing on their respective strengths, the two sides will carry out cooperation in such areas as collection environment monitoring, sample testing and traditional artifact restoration.
They will also jointly apply for and undertake research projects at the national and ministry level, work on key technological breakthroughs, and cultivate skilled cross-disciplinary professionals.
The center marks the beginning of an all-round partnership in the field between the two sides and will also contribute to the nation’s cultural power.
