Tsinghua University Xiu Zhong Academy Marks First Student Festival and First Anniversary
On the evening of June 2nd, the first “Zhong·Yi” Student Festival and the first anniversary party of the Xiu Zhong Academy of Tsinghua University were held in the auditorium. Teachers and students gathered to enjoy wonderful performances and spend a “travel” time. Peng Gang, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Zhang Lujing, Vice President of China Water Environment Group, and Hu Hongying, President of Xiu Zhong Academy, attended the event and delivered speeches.

Peng Gang fully affirmed the talent training work of Xiuzhong Academy and the growth and progress of Xiuzhong students in the past year. He said that the harmonious coexistence of man and nature and sustainable development are one of the most concerned issues in today’s human society. He hopes that students will find their own interests during college and work hard for them as implied by the theme of the Student Day “Zhong Yi”. He hopes that students will surpass their own and others’ expectations, keep moving forward, achieve excellence, and contribute to society.
Zhang Lujing congratulated Xiuzhong College on its first anniversary, and gave affirmation and blessings to the college’s work in educating people and the growth of students. She said that in China Water Environment Group, there are Tsinghua people who are working hard and devoting themselves wholeheartedly, and she hopes that Xiuzhong students will study hard and make achievements in the field of sustainable development like their seniors.
Hu Hongying thanked the school for its high attention, the strong support of the co-construction departments and the efforts of the college management center. He said that the students’ academic and personal abilities have made significant progress in the past year, and the teachers are very pleased with the students’ outstanding performance.

The DV drama of Xiu Zhong Class 33 takes breaking the monotonous and repetitive “lying down” life as its starting point, showing the positive, sunny and optimistic youth of Xiu Zhong people; the stage plays of Xiu Zhong Class 32 and Class 31 are novel, unique and creative, combining daily life with professional learning to show the students’ thinking and expression abilities.
