TSSC Candidates Bag Gold And Silver at IndiaSkills Northern Regionals 2021

New Delhi: The northern showdown for the IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition which began on November 15, witnessed participation from eight prominent states and union territories which included Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh displaying their incredible talents and skills during the two-day mega event.

Participants Ashish Kumar Singh(23) and Arpit Shrivastva (23) from the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) bagged the Gold and Silver respectively in the Information Network Cabling category.

Commenting on this, Mr. Arvind Bali, CEO, TSSC said, “We congratulate our champions Mr. Ashish Kumar Singh for winning Gold and Arpit Shrivastva for winning silver medal in Information network cabling organised by TSSC in partner institute Connect Broadband Mohali.”

Held in Chandigarh this time around, the event witnessed participation from over 450 young, enthusiastic contenders showcasing over 45 vocational skills like Information Network Cabling, Mobile Robotics, Cyber Security, Autobody Repair, Beauty Therapy, Welding, Patisserie and Confectionery, Health and Social Care, Plumbing and Heating, Concrete Construction Work, Carpentry, and many more. Conducted at 14 Partner Institution locations in Chandigarh (12), Himachal Pradesh (1) and Uttar Pradesh (1) saw participants aged between 19 and 24 years.

The aim of this unique competition is to promote skill development and vocational training in India which is slowly being recognized for its human resource potential. The event was hosted by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at Inderdhanush Auditorium, Panchkula, Haryana in the presence of Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh.

Focused at showcasing new-age technological expertise by the youth of the nation, the winners of IndiaSkills 2021 North will compete with the gold and silver medallists of East, West and South regions in the IndiaSkills National Competition 2021 which will be held in Bangalore, Karnataka in the last week of December.

The winners from these competitions will train for nine months, after which they will represent India on the global stage at WorldSkills Shanghai, China in October 2022.
