TSU is among the leaders of the new RUR subject ranking
The Round University Ranking (RUR) agency has released the results of the world subject ranking of universities for November 2020.
The ranking includes 829 universities from 72 countries, 194 of which are Russian. The universities were evaluated on 20 different indicators.
TSU entered the top 10 Russian universities in Medical Sciences (7 in the Russian Federation, overall 407) along with Moscow State University (153), RUDN (248), North-Eastern Federal University (319), First Moscow State Medical University (356), and others.
Tomsk State University is ranked 4th in Russia and 253rd in the world in Life Sciences.
TSU kept its leading positions in Technical Sciences – 168th in the world, 4th in Russia, and in Natural Sciences it is 151st in the world and 3rd in the country.
It should be noted that TSU achievements in medicine in October 2020 were noted at the international forum Open Innovations.
Yuri Kistenev, TSU Deputy Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities, head of the Laboratory for Biophotonics, presented a hardware-software complex for screening diagnostics of lung cancer based on exhaled breath analysis. Ekaterina Marchenko, head of the TSU Laboratory of Medical Alloys and Shape Memory Implants, demonstrated superelastic cermet knitwear, and Yuri Yasenchuk, senior researcher in the laboratory, demonstrated a mobile measuring complex for mechanobiology.
