TU Delft: Marien van der Meer new member Executive Board/Vice President Operations
Marien van der Meer will become Vice President Operations (VPO) in the Executive Board of TU Delft. The Supervisory Board has appointed Van der Meer as of 1 August 2021. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors/CFOO of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Netherlands Cancer Institute.
The Supervisory Board is very pleased to appoint Marien van der Meer to the position of VPO: “As a director at medical institutions, she has extensive experience in guiding financial business processes, real estate, HR, IT and campus development. She is also a good team player – in combination with her substantive expertise this makes her eminently suitable to complement the Executive Board,” says Jeroen van der Veer, chairman of the TU Delft Supervisory Board.
Marien van der Meer studied public administration at Leiden University. She has extensive experience in complex professional organisations, of which the last ten years were as a director. The past five years this was at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, the hospital and research institute that specialises in cancer. She has contributed to future-proof management, was a member of the Organisation for European Cancer Institutes and of the Amsterdam AI coalition. Before that, she was chairperson of the Board of Directors of Sophia Rehabilitation centre in The Hague and Delft, where she helped to prepare for the merger with Leiden to create the current Basalt organisation, in addition to the realisation of the new build of the main facility.
TU Delft’s Executive Board further includes: Tim van der Hagen, Rector Magnificus/President of the Executive Board and Rob Mudde, Vice Rector Magnificus/Vice President Education (also Vice President of the Executive Board).
