Two Billabong High students win awards at Trash to Treasure Contest on World Earth Day
Mumbai: Two students of Billabong High International School (BHIS) Malad won awards at the ‘Trash To Treasure Competition’ organized by United Way Mumbai during the 2021 edition of World Earth Day.
Duscha Yadav, Grade 6 student, won the 1st prize for her project ‘Bird Feeder’, while Anvi Maheshwari of Grade 8, ranked among top five in the final round for her Paper Journal and Paper Fan project.
The Trash to Treasure Competition was organized by IndianFolk.com for children of all age groups. This competition aimed to create awareness among students on the importance of recycling in a fun and engaging way.
Elated over students’ achievements, Dr Madhu Singh, Principal, BHIS Malad, said, “We are very proud of Duscha and Anvi’s achievements in this competition. At BHIS, we take pride in instilling values and learnings among our children to not only expand their imagination but also empower them to lead by example. We have only one planet and it is the supreme duty of each of us to limit its degeneration and promote recycling of resources. We are thankful to organizations like United Way Mumbai for initiating an interesting challenge that promotes love for the earth.”
