The Two-day inter-college Management Fest, “PINNACLE ’24,” commenced at the College Park Campus of The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad today, i.e., 21 March 2024. The program kicked off with a welcome address by Dr. Tanusree Chakraborty, Faculty Coordinator of PINNACLE’24. Dr. Tanusree extended a warm welcome to the guests, followed by a brief overview of PINNACLE by Dr. Subodh Kandamuthan, Dean of Long Duration Programs at ASCI. In his address, Dr. Subodh emphasized that this event is ASCI’s flagship initiative, entirely organized by PGDM students, aimed at familiarizing participants from various colleges with ASCI and its campus. He highlighted the sponsorship secured from 20 companies for the event.
Prof. B VN Sachendra, Dean of ASCI, extended his best wishes to the students for the event and their future endeavors. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Nirmalya Bagchi, Director General (I/c) of ASCI and Director CMS. Dr. Bagchi commended the PGDM students for their cerebral activities and encouraged participants to engage enthusiastically in all events. He expressed his satisfaction that the students successfully obtained sponsorships for the event, demonstrating their organizational capabilities and learning experience in event management. Dr. Bagchi also mentioned that ASCI PGDM students have contributed articles to various journals and noted that a former participant of PINNACLE ’23 is now a student at ASCI PGDM.
Following Dr. Bagchi’s address, a lamp lighting ceremony was conducted, with Dr. Nirmalya Bagchi, Prof. Sachendra, Dr. Subodh, and Dr. Tanusree from ASCI, along with Mr. Vinod Kolluri, Director of Cloud Engineering at Oracle, Hyderabad, participating.
Dr. Vinod Kolluri delivered a special address on behalf of the corporate sector. He commenced his talk with a riddle and a joke to captivate the audience’s attention, sharing his journey from a BTech graduate to Director at Oracle. Dr. Kolluri advised participants not to compare themselves with others and to embrace life’s inevitable ups and downs. He recounted his initial apprehension upon being promoted to a managerial position at Oracle but ultimately succeeded with the support of his manager’s assurance. Dr. Kolluri stressed the importance of dreaming big, celebrating achievements, establishing routines, and practicing self-discipline. He recommended reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear and emphasized the significance of self-love and personal growth.
During the inaugural event, the first issue of the newsletter “ASCI PGDM Chronicle” was released. Following a lunch break, various competitions including Reel Making, Branding & Advertisement, Business Quiz, Case Study, T-shirt painting, and Cultural Competitions were conducted.
