Two-day international conference held on multidisciplinary research

 

ALIGARH: The faculty members and experts deliberated upon the various aspects of “Multidisciplinary Research” during the two-day international conference organized in hybrid mode by the Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University on May 3-4, 2023.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Maria Scharron Del Rio, Dean, School of Education, Brooklyn College City University of New York, USA highlighted the importance of incorporating various disciplines in research including gender justice, environmental education, and curricular and pedagogical interventions. She said focus-oriented quality researches are the need of the hour.

The guest of honour and patron of the programme, Prof. Mirza Asmer Beg, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences stressed the need for multidisciplinary research and said that the higher education institutions need to be transformed into multidisciplinary institutions to fulfil the objectives behind the NEP 2020.

Earlier, Prof. Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui, Chairperson, Department of Education welcomed the guest speakers and highlighted the objectives of the conference. He said that several research papers from allied areas were presented at the conference.

Addressing the valedictory programme, Prof. Shaheen Usmani from the USA, emphasized that case studies should be conducted by young researchers with a special focus on early childhood care.

Dr. Banwari Lal Natiya, Chairman, Northern Regional Committee (NRC), NCTE, New Delhi discussed the role of education in our country to make students self-reliant and confident.

Prof Anwar Jahan Zuberi, a retired faculty member of the department, shared her memories and motivated students to conduct innovative research in the field of education.

Prof Nasrin delivered the vote of thanks.
