Two-day international seminar concludes
ALIGARH : The Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day international seminar on “Modern Trends in Intellectual Development of Islamic Studies”.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor presided over the inaugural session and Professor Abdul Ali (Former Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies, AMU) delivered the keynote address.
Professor Nisar Ahmad (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, AMU) was the chief guest while Professor Muhammad Gulrez (Dean, Faculty of International Studies) graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
Professor Mohammad Ismail (Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies and Director of the seminar) welcomed the guest speakers and said that more than 80 papers were presented by the scholars from India and abroad, including Prof Hamidullah Marazi, Central University (Kashmir), Prof Sirajul Islam (Former Chairman, Department of Philosophy, Visva Bharti, Shantiniketan), Prof Mohd Aslam Islahi (JNU) and those from Bangladesh, Mauritius, Thailand, Indonesia and UAE.
Dr Adam Malik Khan proposed a vote of thanks.
