Two-Day National Seminar on National Education Policy-2020 and Languages organised

Aligarh : In collaboration with the Marathi Section of the Modern Indian Languages Department and the Central Hindi Institute, Agra; Aligarh Muslim University organised a two-day national seminar on the occasion of International Language Day on the topic “National Education Policy 2020 and Languages.”

The conference was inaugurated by the Director of the Central Hindi Institute and the Director of the Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Prof. Sunil Kulkarni. He said the protection and development of Indian languages have been given unprecedented importance in the NEP. Language preservation and development have been given unique importance in the National Education Policy-2020.

He said that the formula of the trilingual’s that we accepted in the post-independence era is further emphasised in the new education policy of 2020, talking about the preservation and development of Indian languages. He said that the loss of any country’s Language is the loss of cultural heritage.

As a guest, Prof. Mukta Mahajan (KBC, North Maharashtra University) said, “The National Education Policy 2020 has focused on the need to bring changes in the education system at the grassroots level in India. This policy emphasizes the development of creative abilities of each individual.”

Prof. Arif Nazir, (Dean Faculty of Arts, AMU) , said in his presidential address that there has been development in the field of education in India and around the world in the last few decades. Through innovation, industrial integration, and internationalization, academic excellence can create a long-term comprehensive impact in the field of education.

Dr. Taher Pathan, (Director, National Seminar In-charge), said that Indian education has always been value-based and teachers have to deal with moral and ethical dilemmas. Today, social, intellectual, and political progress globally and, most importantly, value education depends to a great extent on education. The National education policy of 2020 is certainly a guiding document.

Professor M.A. Zargar, the Chairman of the Modern Indian Languages department, gave the welcome address. Dr. Shakir Ahmad Nayaku managed the proceedings of the program. Professor Kranti Pal, the conference coordinator, extended thanks and also unveiled Dr. Pathan’s book titled “Saint Literature: Value and Sociality” and the Punjabi language magazine “Kahani Punjab.”

Aligarh Muslim University, research scholars and academics from other universities also presented their research articles during the conference.
