Two-day pedagogy workshop for teachers of women’s studies to begin on Feb 28

ALIGARH: The Indian Association for Women’s Studies is organizing a two-day pedagogy workshop, in collaboration with Advanced Centre for Women Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, from February 28 to March 1, 2023.

According to the director of the centre, Prof Azra Moosavi the workshop is aimed at facilitating teachers’ training for Women’s Studies Centres from the Northern and North Eastern regions.

She said the basis of Women’s Studies is to bring to the fore women’s contributions and acknowledge the fact that there is no history without women’s participation and women’s studies pedagogy cannot just be only a classroom interaction.

Every course has to be integrated with fieldwork inclusive of documentation and dissemination, informed by feminist pedagogy. So, theory, and praxis go hand in hand in the pedagogy of Women’s Studies, and this is the crux of the theme that will be discussed during the workshop, Professor Azra added.
