Two-day training programme on Soil Health Card held at Achabal, Anantnag

 

ANANTNAG : The Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department today organised a two days training programme on Soil Health Cards at block Achabal under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.

Assistant Soil Chemist Anantnag while speaking on the occasion said that farmers must come forward for soil testing as the testing is being done free of cost by the department.

Different crops need different quantities of micro and macro nutrients and minerals and to get the best yields, sufficient availability of nutrients is required which can be determined by soil testing only, he added.

Simultaneously an awareness camp on PM Kisan was also held at Larkipora block Shahabad.

The District Agricultural Officer briefly discussed the various schemes of the department viz PMKSAN NMSA, CHCs etc aimed to double the income of the farmers and to make them technically sound.

To boost the agriculture sector, Farmers must adopt the new scientific methods and should follow the departmental guidance, he said.

The programmes at both places were attended by a large number of farmers and officials of the concerned department.
